Tovi Eliasen graduated from Westmont College in
2005, where he studied Kinesiology and Communications. He is a native
of the Bay Area, specifically Pleasanton of the East Bay.
Post college, Tovi enjoyed coaching soccer, where his interest in
training came to the forefront. Working with a large group is an
incredible experience, but Tovi also enjoyed the depth and intensity of
one-on-one training, creating a more controlled environment more
conducive to success.
Personal Training was a perfect fit, and therefore he obtained his
first certification from the American Council on Exercise in 2005, and
went to work with a local gym in Pleasanton.
In July 2006, Tovi got married, and moved permanently to Santa Barbara, where he started working as a trainer for Goleta Valley Athletic Club. During that time he obtained his second certification, from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
In March 2007, Tovi shifted focus solely on Cool Brook Fitness, his own training company. In June 2008, CBF starting taking clients at "The Training Room" in downtown Santa Barbara (www.thetrainingroom.org), in addition to his private studio in Goleta. Soon after brought along another certification, this one from NSCA as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Currently, Tovi splits his days going back and forth between The Training Room and his studio, as well as coaching soccer at Dos Pueblos High School, and enjoying his wife Rebecca, and dog Abby.
